Welcome to the Year 2002 Diary Page...

The Diary Page is a running Diary of Events that I report as they come up to keep you informed with what is currently happening with the project. There is one exception to this as it deserves a special notice. The project took a major step forward when Vicky Sadler got involved with the project. As I.T. Manager, Vicky structured the project, and produces our project newsletter. In a very short space of time Vicky has proved to be an extremely valued member of my team.

It is with great sadness that I have to report a major change in my situation. In late July 2001, I developed a serious new development in my illness. I cannot sit or turn left or right without passing out, so am confined to bed 100% of the time, almost horizontal. Last year I was in the acute ward of the Derby Royal Infirmary for nearly 10 weeks and then transferred to the Kings Lodge Annex of the City Hospital grounds.

It was hoped that my dizzyness problem would disappear as mysteriously as it arrived, but a year later this is still not the case. As a family we had to make a very difficult descision as I am now beyond the care my wife can provide, and after 16 years of caring for me, I have had to move into Amber Lodge Nursing Home in Derby, and became a fulltime resident in October 2001.

My new found position has meant that I could no longer use my home recording studio even if I was at home. My music has come to a standstill so my album is going to remain a single adventure into musical creativity. It has been difficult to come to terms with being seperated from my wife and family, but at least they can visit. It also took time to get over the loss of my music. Fortunately I can play my cd to cheer myself up.

I am happy to report that I am very well looked after and the staff at the nursing home have been excellent and treat me as one of them rather than a resident. I very much wanted to keep my project going, but now I offer my site more as an inspiration to be creative. I was fortunate that the Derby Evening Telegraph found a sponsor who has supplied a laptop computer, and I am now getting my website back in order.

With 2,889 emails waiting and a website to launch I can only say sorry for not updating my pages before, but it was out of my control. My Moby Project is online. I hope to create a free mobile recording studio for the disabled. I have recently added a huge amount of Nokia Ringtones, Picture Messages, Logo's, Screen Savers etc, in the hope of attracting small donations.
